Barcelona have confirmed that defender Andreas Christensen has suffered an injury to his left calf while on international duty with Denmark.
The 26-year-old defender was substituted 18 minutes into Denmark’s 3-1 win over Finland on Thursday evening.
They said in a statement: “Tests carried out on Saturday on the first team player Andreas Christensen have shown that he has an injury to his left calf.

“He is unavailable for selection and his recovery will determine his return.”
Christensen’s problem adds to Xavi’s mounting list of injury issues as the Spaniard is already without Pedri, Ousmane Dembele, and Ronald Araujo.
Frenkie De Jong also withdrew from the Netherlands squad earlier this week as he nurses a right hamstring injury.
Christensen, who joined Barcelona from Chelsea last summer, has made 25 appearances for the league leaders in all competitions.
The Denmark international has become an important member of Barcelona’s back four, helping them boast the best defensive record in La Liga having only conceded nine goals this season.
Barcelona are next in action against Elche on April 1.
